Tofutti Sour Cream

May 15, 2008

When I first gave up dairy, I felt a little like I was missing out on the creamy side that dairy provides. Having to avoid stuff with creme and not getting to put Sour Cream on my chili left me feeling a little ‘empty’ - i really like sour creme.

However, all that being said, I was SO JACKED to find Tofutti Sour Creme in my dairy isle at my local Whole Foods. It is a PERFECT substitute, very creamy, delicious and easy to spread and dop on top of my foods. It is not as sour as regular sour cream, but i don’t really mind.

It is the best I have found yet and I use it in LOTS of my recipes.

Tofurky Deli Slices

May 15, 2008

These Deli Slices are fan-freakin-tastic, I keep the packages at my work and make sandwiches out of them pretty much every day. Sometimes if I am wanting to feel a little Tony Soprano, I will peel myself off a piece and mow it down as I am walking through the kitchen.

They have so many varieties I am always finding myself devouring the different flavors without bread just to experience the subtle varieties. There is also something about the texture and consistency which seems more ‘real’ - although, I wouldn’t know, I have never eaten meat.

Morning Star Farms Griller Burger Origional

May 15, 2008

Hands down the BEST all-time veggie burger. There have been many which have tried to compete, but as of yet, there is no other frozen veggie patty which can compete with this classic.

They are delicious, easy to cook and can stay in your freezer for months, just waiting for you to unwrap it and pop it in the microwave. However, they perform equally as well on the grill in the backyard and retain that smoky grill flavor. Even meat eaters agree these are hearty delicious burgers.

Morningstar Farms Veggie Dogs

May 15, 2008

These dogs are good day and night, just pull them out of the freezer, toss them in the microwave and in 2 minutes you have yourself a delicious snack or meal. I like to melt some soy cheese over the top and soak them in mustard for the real “cheese dog” effect.

These were late night staples in college and I still always keep a box in my fridge when I am feeling a little lazy to cook up a ‘real’ meal.
